The major aim and professional task of the Department for Classical ballet is to educate all-round dance artists who, having acquired the values of dance art with great professional knowledge, are able to become performing artists both at home and in international dance life.

The Department ensures professional guidance and supervision of preparatory courses, BA (in classical ballet) an0d MA courses. The activities of the Department enfold a wide spectrum, ranging from preparing 9-10 year olds for their dance career, guiding the artistic studies and stage practice of students in higher education or going on with the education of MA students. These represent entirely different tasks.

A primary focus of the Department is talent development, preparing students for artistic work without injuries in the long run, the formation of high quality technical knowledge and performing skills.
